Bursa's commercial quarter grew around the silk trade, and many of its hans still work as they did centuries ago. Teams start in the courtyard of Koza Han with a silk merchant's ledger: a list of goods to find, questions to answer and a small starting budget.

The route runs through the covered bazaar, Emir Han, Fidan Han and the streets around the Grand Mosque. Teams have to find a silk scarf of a particular pattern, learn how İskender kebab got its name, get a chestnut candy maker to share one fact about the trade, and identify the calligraphy panels in the Grand Mosque from photographs. Everything happens on foot within a few hundred metres, much of it under cover.

We finish with Turkish coffee in the Koza Han courtyard, where the teams present their ledgers and we announce the winners. Rain does not stop the game, which makes it a reliable choice in winter for groups staying in Bursa or on Uludağ.
