Cappadocia takes its old name, the land of beautiful horses, seriously, and a ride is the quietest way to see the valleys. We work with a family-run ranch near Avanos whose horses are used to beginners. Riders are matched to horses by height, weight and experience.

After a short lesson in the paddock, groups of up to ten set off in single file with a wrangler at the front and back. The route follows sandy paths through Red and Rose valleys, past pigeon houses and rock-cut chapels, at walking pace with an optional trot for experienced riders.

Sunrise and sunset rides are the most popular; in summer we avoid the midday heat. The ride ends back at the ranch with tea, gözleme and time to meet the horses.

Included

  • Horse and tack matched to each rider

Accessibility

Riders should be under 110 kg and able to sit astride; we can arrange a horse-drawn cart on the same route for those who prefer not to ride.
