Wahiba Sands dune drive and camp dinner

After the drive from Muscat, the group switches to four-wheel-drive vehicles with experienced local drivers at the edge of the Wahiba (Sharqiya) Sands. Drivers let some air out of the tyres and head into the dunes for a drive that can be as gentle or as lively as guests want.

On the way you stop with a Bedouin family for coffee and dates and to hear about life in the desert. At sunset the group climbs a high dune to watch the light change, with time for sandboarding for anyone who wants to try.

The evening ends at a desert camp with a buffet of Omani and international dishes, a fire and a clear view of the stars. It works as an evening programme with an overnight stay at the camp.
