Materials

- Soft objects: cones, balls, cushions
- Rope or tape to mark a 10 × 10 m area
Step by step
- Scatter the objects inside the marked area.
- Pairs choose a walker and a guide; the walker puts on a blindfold.
- Guides stand outside the area and direct their walker across with voice only.
- Touching a mine means starting again; swap roles after each crossing.
- Debrief: which instructions helped, and how did it feel to trust or to be trusted?
Facilitator tips
- Run several pairs at once for noise and challenge.
- Use soft objects only and clear any real hazards from the ground.
Variations
- Team version: one guide directs three walkers in turn.
- Silent guides using claps as a code.
Accessibility
Offer an eyes-open version with a "no-look" rule, and wheelchair-friendly flat ground. Never pressure anyone to wear a blindfold.
